So I took my glasses back to optical to get the fish-eye effect fixed by lowering my eye center by 2mm. Then I got my new lenses in and took them home only to find that they are still wrong! It's not as bad, but now I'm getting an Escher effect. According to the folks at the optical center, this may be because the axis is bad and that means that I have to go see the Dr again becuase she's the only one who can fix it. * sigh* At least we're closer to having it right! yay. The frames really are cute and I really want to able to wear them and not run into things...
This also means my next weekend has gotten really busy! I have two shoots on Friday, a Dr's appointment and then a shoot on Saturday and then my friend is taking my picture on Sunday. Woo. A busy weekend for photos. I'm going to be swamped in edits that next week, holy cow. I better get it all done too, because the weekend after that I have a shoot Sunday, and then one on the following Tuesday!
Know what else is coming up next week? AVATAR! Is it rediculous that I'm excited about this? Well, I don't care, I am excited. I have a performance with my dance troupe on the 17th and I'm thinking seeing Avatar at a midnight showing right after might just be grand. Nick pointed out that it's like three hours long, but I don't care! We'll see what happens.
In other news I made a new fantastic photo contact. This guy works on NGO/humanitarian projects and helps fund the organizations he works with with his photographic work. To be honest, this is currently my career goal. So I email this guy, telling him I think what he's doing is great and I would love it if he had any advice or every needed any help I was totally willing to do so. It was more eloquent than that, but it's the jist. Fully expected to get the brush off.
He wrote me back! And he was flattered! And he said he could totally see us working together! How cool is that? I don't want to jinx anything so I'll stop talking about it, but just how cool is it to even be told 'hey, yeah, you can do this thing you've always wanted to do, come on over'?
So, I'm happy today. On with my 'reviews' I guess.
